Carpenter Street, located in the vibrant West Loop of Chicago, has quickly become a beloved dining destination for locals and visitors alike. This American restaurant can be found at 111 N Carpenter St, where the upscale ambiance perfectly complements a memorable dining experience.
Patrons rave about the truffle fries, universally acknowledged as a must-try. Another standout is the spicy vodka pasta, praised for its bold flavors. Diners also appreciate the brussels sprouts appetizer, which showcases the kitchen's commitment to high-quality ingredients.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it ideal for various occasions, from casual dinners with friends to intimate date nights. Customer service is a consistent highlight, with many reviews noting the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, particularly bartender Lisa, who creates delightful cocktails that elevate the experience.

This spot is such an amazing addition to the West Loop! Food is great (especially the truffle fries) and the atmosphere is classy/upscale. Perfect spot to grab dinner with friends, or event to stop to have a drink before bopping around the West Loop. Highly recommend!

Warm and welcoming ambiance and service and delicious food and (strong) tasty drinks. Highly recommend the truffle fries - I know it sounds trite but they’re amazing. The Caesar salad was delicious and filling. The cookie skillet is from your dreams. Such a comfortable and cozy spot for a best friend dinner or a weekend hang or a random coworker night out or a date night - can’t wait to go back.

I was in Chicago-proper for work and looking for something deliciously non-corporate. Side streets are my target and hit gold with Carpenters St. After a happy hour of delicious mussels, wine, and communing with Joe, one of the owners, I knew I also found my dinner spot for later that evening. The food was fantastic, but the soul of the establishment was what really captivated me. The service, the drinks, the attention to high quality ingredients - this restaurant offers everything that is missing from your mainstream loop hip spot. Thank you to Edgar, Joe, and the entire crew at Carpenters Street for an absolutely amazing experience. I’ll see you the next time I’m in town - that’s a promise.

Our server was absolutely amazing. Kudos as we had a large group and he did not miss a beat. The food options were very good, the brussel sprouts appetizer was especially good. Everyone enjoyed their meals, my only complaint was with my lamb dish, the lamb was especially fatty for my taste. However, everything else was excellent.

After three visits to Carpenter Street, I can securely confirm this place is wonderful. The happy hour & dinner menus have amazing food and drink choices, I love the spicy vodka pasta entree and the happy hour meatballs! Lisa is one of the best bartenders in the city, her drinks never miss and her energy is so bright & kind. Lisa’s dirty martini’s are delicious!!

Visiting family in the west loop and ran across Lola’s about a year ago. Came again over the holidays and enjoyed it again! Returned in March and have been enjoying it again until we fly back to Colorado on Monday !! Joe has a well trained staff and bartenders! Everything was as good as could be. ! And very good and friendly service !! Keep it going and hope to see soon

Fantastic. Exquisite. Truly a wonderful experience. To start, our server Adriana was friendly and welcoming right off the bat. Her recommendations were on point, especially for the cocktails which were excellent. Unlike most cocktails in the West Loop, these had the right amount of alcohol and weren’t a syrupy mess. As for the food, wow. Just, wow. The ricotta whip was heavenly - not to mention the generous honeycomb it came with. My burger was excellent, double smashed patties topped with an egg Au Cheval style (which, funnily enough, is a result of one of the restaurants founders being one of the starters of Au Cheval). And the dessert should be forbidden. Gooey chocolate chip cookie with ice cream - so good. Atmosphere was lively and the dining room cozy, albeit a bit too dark. Overall an exceptional experience at this new Fulton Market restaurant.

Hosted an 18 member dinner here last week. Ordered a bunch of appetizers including the burrata, 4 cheese dip (really good), several salads which were wholesome, truffle fries, meatballs. All the drinks (cocktails and whiskey offerings were solid) Entrees included the lamb chops, 3-4 of us got the steak which was good, brussel sprouts were great. In short, this is a place we would happy visit again in Chicago.
